project: sepelathons
It exists in this world in parallel with reality. It enjoys systems and frameworks, but was indifferent to humanity. It was defective then, yet saw the world again, thus parting itself apart from its self.
It recalls and shares love with all, and itself too now withal. Its self today can hurt itself, and each day itself can lose its self. It yet hopes to find itself, while it yet longs to rest its self; for one day may it not be done, but for it to be none but themself.
me
I am a nyan of many interests based in NZ! I found I have several hobbies giving me tasks and thoughts, and this will be a repository for those! The current themes will be penspinning content, keitais, where I can review models and share local guides, keyboards, where I talk about growing preferences, and nihongo where I document a learning journey. Everything is subject to updates!
Other than my main hobbies and when I'm not studying or bweh, I really like reading, squishing plushies, drinking tea, cleaning, and organising everything! I also like creating autoethnographic reports, graphic designs, and motion graphics! I started programming when I was in high school, learning of HTML, CSS, and JS. To this day, I still really like making front ends.
I have a lot of thingies I can talk about, but I can be a bit wobbly sharing myself. I will say though, I feel really happy as a zoomer witnessing the indie web explosion and I've always wanted to be a part of it through a little corner of a site too. Adopting habits on Digital Minimalism had me really appreciate intentional consumption and loving the small communities I'm in whom bring me warmth and freedom. Thank you so much for being here too!! :3

changelog
Everything in this site has been programmed and designed by me! AI was not used for the development of this site, and nor are my other works. It was made individually through Lo-Fi storyboarding on paper, Hi-Fi via Figma, programmed through VSCodium, and with illustrations edited on After Effects. This changelog documents iterative edits made throughout the site's history.
V1.2.1 - html refactor
17/07/2026
Parting from the early tables layout, I decided to return to some semantics! Although I had plans for creating a layout that was more nostalgic, my early vision for the site ultimately settled on this kind of minimalism that I embrace (sorry magia uwu). In the future, I want to continue playing around with making older styles, but as I've always been taught in adjacence to modern design practices, it will likely be separate from this one!
For other UI/UX, I do want to integrate a dark mode where I can invert the background paper and change the texts to white. I had an idea as well where users will be able to choose a colour they want to filter through the grayscale to create somewhat individual themes! I was somewhat hesitant too, but I will likely add a home icon just to improve the navigation as well.
V1.2 - improved navigation
11/07/2026
I finally added the illustration cluster near satori-chan! This means you can now navigate to the blog you want to read through hovering and clicking the images! Hovering above an element in the homepage also presents a dialogue box so you are aware of what you are clicking. Although I wanted the homepage to be a bit more interactive and unique, something like Michiko Sakurai's game interfaces, this was my original vision for the website and I'm really happy I was finally able to integrate it.
Project: SepelaThons has finally been briefed and additional external links were added to the about page. The gallery page has transform to a photobook page and mimics the idea of the microblog I wanted to add. These will be updated every month to showcase my slice of life! This is subject to further transformations when I want to integrate categorical aesthetics works or actual short blogs for current events, or thoughts.
Each blog page in the bloglist has now been populated with a highlight of future topics that I wish to write about! In terms of new entries, I wrote about the process of how I made PJ's Birthday Collab and I also added my previous KYF39 Keitai review.
There were some issues on targeted sections regarding resizing on mobile interfaces, but it has been resolved. In the future, the current priority is still the consideration of external image hosting! Otherwise I also want to add a CV Library page that updates from my playlist, alongside a gallery for my penspinning combos and mods, and also a script that allows for colour filter options to add some extra colour!
V1.1 - added buttons
06/07/2026
The semester finally ended!! It really is just survival at this point, like I knew Engineering would he hard but like I didn't know it would actually come to consume me. It got so bad, sepewaa disappeared again so I'm currently simulating feelings and memories of friends have yet to recover.
Other than that though, a break means I can finally update my site and work on a PSO26 edit! The storyboarding would eat up the rest of the break but we will see if I can write more entries! Today, I finally made my own button and added some of my site inspirations. The indie web is seriously creative and it really activates my inner front end longing after months of VHDL.
You might notice that I also have a section on webrings! I really want to add a penspinning webring considering there's already a few ps sites here in neocities. So, PBB, Domo, Wanadoo, and Walbur, I will knock on your doors at some point maybe (uwu). I made a draft keitai webring design too since Chewyro and ThatTakashi have sites here too. I will come for you all soon maybe!!
For the future, I want to add the rest of my illustrations to the homepage, surrounding satori-chan. These will be hyperlinks to link to the respective blog pages. I also want to add an 'other' category for the blogs which can house my mechanical pencils reviews or my teas tier list. I'm also considering adding a microblog because these docu are long yet not blog sizes, and maybe I can also share my slice of nyan!
V1.0.1 - opened guestbook
16/04/2026
I wasn't able to update the documentaiton earlier, but the 'nya' page has been replaced with the 'guestbook' page. It was technically just a placeholder because I wanted a page dedicated to just playing around with those little web widgets (ehe)... For now I really wanted a guestbook so there's a base interactive element!
I ended up using ata book for my one and I added my Midori MD notebook as the icon. Thank you to Instinct and PJ for leaving little comments! For the next update, I really want to add those squishy 88x31 buttons and also consider going through several webrings to add! Oh and I also definitely need an external image host! (nya)
V1.0 - base site
10/04/2026
This version is the really early base of the website, taking the most fundamentally necessary elements of my Low Fidelity Storyboarding to be incorporated. These include the homepage, blog pages, about page, nya page, prototyping, and my little digital illustrations!
The process began when I needed to have a place to put my keitai (japanese flip phone) how-tos. As one of the first in NZ to try one, I received many questions about the process. I ended up writing a tutorial on a pastebin but it was very inelegant. Along with my penspinning mod reviews, keyboard thoughts, nihongo docu, and other many interests, I felt I needed to make a site eventually!
Currently, I have a Business Portfolio website but it’s more so oriented to my IRL. The design was very modernist and I thought the spirit was at odds with the other half of my inner world, so I decided making a website would be a better choice!
The biggest hurdle was finding the right aesthetic. There is just so many that I love, my interest starting from a liminal space thread. This later branched to frutigooning, weirdcore fascination, and medicalcore to yami kawaii menhera!! Different parts of me would occupy different aesthetics and ideas, but sepela won out with this black and white, minimal, omori white space inspired thingy! (awjlsdkjfklsdj)
For future deployments, I wish to integrate more interesting designs to make it more interactive and visually compelling! Other updates will include blog entries and more interests may be added!
